Scars & Stripes

Scars & Stripes

Project Onward artists explore their relationship with this country and things that feel uniquely “American” to them – the good, the bad, and the ugly. Lovingly painted homages to fast food chains sidle up next to outlandish glitter renderings of political bigwigs. Backyard barbecues share space with police cars engulfed in flames. Representing the experiences and opinions of an extremely diverse group of American citizens, this exhibition aims to capture just what it is that makes this country so incredibly inspiring and so devastatingly disappointing. This is our country at its most flawed and fabulous, scars and stripes on display for all to see.
