Artist
James Hall b. 1954, Oak Park, IL

James Hall, a self-described "jack of all trades," employs a variety of media to create highly detailed, composite imagery. Pulling from his imagination, he creates organic or geometric shapes that travel beyond, in front of, and through other shapes to create a tangled illusion of depth. In addition to his abstract compositions, James is known for highly detailed architectural scenes, such as his ambitious studies of the Chicago Cultural Center. The images are engaging, colorful, and highly rendered. Hall states, "It is fun to get my imagination to work. I like to put the colors down, using different mediums. It makes me feel better."
