Artist
Stephon Doby b. 1989, Chicago, IL

Stephon Doby is inspired by high school days and memories of old friends; of teenage dramas and anime cartoons about kids and their sports teams, their clicks and identities, and about teenage romance. His main research sources include Hentai cartoons; the animated series, Total Drama Island; YouTube and the website DeviantArt.com. His cartoon figures react and engage with each other almost like a reality t.v. show, and he enjoys depicting these scenes through marker drawings and greeting cards, or paint on cardboard. His obsession with the names and personalities of his characters reflects his extroverted sociability and ability to remember details about people, both in the studio and at school. He attends Malcolm X College of Chicago and has future plans to become an animator.
