Michael Smith: Fashion, Figure, and Form

We hope you will join us for February Third Friday Open Studio and art opening, where we will be highlighting Project Onward artist, Michael Smith, in a solo exhibition.

Inspired by the past, present, and future looks of fashion, Michael's large scale, colored pencil drawings bring us a frenzy of form and figure that captivates the viewer. His use of expressive and energized strokes come together to build structure and then fall back apart on the page, disintegrating into abstract line and color. The stance and the facial expressions of the figures are fierce, strong, and engaging, each confronting the viewer with a unique mood and personality.
