About the event
Our two-part Native Birds Clay Workshop, led by the whimsical and multi-talented artist John Behnke, is the perfect opportunity to let your creativity soar!
In the first session on August 10th, you’ll hand-build two Illinois icons— a Woodpecker and a Robin. But don't feel limited; you can bring your ideas for other native birds! After the first workshop, your creations will be bisque-fired and ready for the magic of glazing in the second session on August 17.
In the second part of the workshop, you'll dive into the fundamentals of glazing. John will guide you through combining underglaze and glaze to create fascinating effects and share tips on using color theory to make your pieces truly pop.
No experience? No problem! This workshop is open to all skill levels, whether you’re a pro potter or a complete newbie.
