Repeat, Repeat, Repeat

For July Third Friday (from home) Project Onward presents a new online exclusive exhibition:" Repeat, Repeat, Repeat." All works go live on our website Friday, July 17th at 10 AM CST! Repetition is a natural phenomenon. Look around and you'll notice patterns everywhere, as our minds unconsciously seek them out. Art often has a rhythm as well, with repetitive lines, forms, and subjects. This is something we have seen frequently in our artists’ work, and it presents in many different ways. For some, the act of repetition is a meditative and self-soothing way to deal with anxiety and stress. The controlled creation of a predictable outcome offers comfort and clarity in a world full of chaos. For others, it can be an act of compulsion with exactness and precision to the point of obsession. Whatever the motivations behind their creation, these works of art are stimulating, familiar and, at times, rather calming.
