About the event

Looking to elevate your small business or entrepreneurship to the next level? Join us for a transformative community event that harnesses the power of imagination and entrepreneurship - The Blueprint Project. Our goal is to reimagine and rebuild a Chicago that reflects the dreams of its people. This unique opportunity empowers entrepreneurs through a dynamic business seminar and ignites the creativity of our future leaders in a concurrent children's art workshop.

The Blueprint Project draws inspiration from visionary artists Kenneth Williams and Ricky Willis. Both lifelong Chicagoans, they are renowned for their thoughtful renderings of the city and its distinctive features. Ricky is celebrated for constructing iconic skyscrapers and treasured landmarks, while Kenneth focuses on the South Side, particularly his Bronzeville neighborhood. He envisions his neighborhood as it should be: vibrant and flourishing, free from run-down or neglected buildings. Turning this dream into reality requires both imagination and investment in the businesses that enrich the community.

This family-friendly event is perfect for anyone seeking growth and financial empowerment. Whether you're nurturing a side hustle or aiming to transform your passion into a full-time business, we'll equip you with the necessary tools. While designed with families in mind, The Blueprint Project is open to all adults striving to build a better future for their businesses and our city. Don't miss out on this valuable experience!

Small Business Seminar:

Discover the tools, insights, and strategies to drive positive change in our city's landscape. Our business seminar brings together experienced speakers who have navigated the challenges of entrepreneurship. Connect with available resources, seize networking opportunities, and collaborate with like-minded individuals passionate about reshaping Chicago's future. Each date offers a comprehensive overview of the essentials for starting and running a business, allowing you to learn everything in a single session.

Dream City Art Workshop for Kids (ages 6-16):

Young minds hold the key to reimagining our world. In the Dream City Art Workshop, we invite kids to unleash their creativity as they design the Chicago of their dreams. Guided by Ricky Willis, Kenneth Williams, and Project Onward staff, children will explore their artistic talents and learn the art of world-building. They'll craft their own interpretations of Willis and Williams' distinctive works. This workshop not only sparks imagination but also instills a sense of ownership and influence over the city's future.

This project is in partnership with the YWCA's Breedlove Entrepreneurship Center and generously sponsored by DCASE: City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events
